Dogs at the lake

As Myra mentioned, over the last three or four days, Lily has been transformed. No longer does she just lay on the bed sleeping 99% of the time and hacking and coughing the remainder. She's active and playful and hungry. She looks infinitely better. Her rib and hip bones seem to protrude less -- we both think she looks like she's put on a little bit of weight. Her coat is smoother and shinier. It's great to see her this way!

We took our dog family to Lake Lanier yesterday. Amos and Calvin love going to the lake, but this was Lily's first trip. At first she didn't understand what was going on when we were loading up the car. When I tried to get her to come into the garage to get in the back of the Escape, Lily barked with excitement for the first time! Pretty incredible that we have had her for more than two weeks and hadn't heard her bark until then.

Turns out she loved being at the lake as much as the other two dogs did. She didn't have the swimming thing down -- I think she was a little nervous of deep water -- but waded into the lake many times to fetch and play. She was very well behaved off the leash too. She never wandered away too far. She kept looking around to make sure that Amos and Calvin were nearby. We do need to work on her begging for people food. She's a big mooch and kind of loses control when she sees that a burger or sandwich is within reach.
